Okay, let's start with a basic and fundamental question, who is a customer and who is the end user?

Well, most entrepreneurs don't think about this question crucially they just concentrate on end users, eventually failing to make an impact or take a long time to have some conversion on their marketing campaign.


In the growing digital world, all the startups in the same industry as yours are trying to make a make mark on social media and have some conversion from it. But without knowing the difference between your customers and target audience it would be difficult to make an impact on social media.


Here is a small and simple definition for each role

Customers: A person who pays for your product or service.

End users: A person who consumes your product.


Customers are generally the decision makers and end users are the ones who enjoy the purchase. Your marketing strategy would be successful or have higher conversion if understand your target audience really well.

Here is a template that might come in handy while drafting your target audience.

End users and Customers: Try to at least address 2 or 3 different sets of end users and their subsequent decision-makers.

If kids are your end users, parents are your customers. When you are defining your customers try to be more precise as possible like mentioning their demographics


Interest: Try to note down the interest of your customers, it would be really helpful in understanding your customers well. Try to include information like job type and the usual interest. It would be ideal to come with interest for both end users and customers for a few startups.


Common traits: These are the common traits of your end user or customers. These are the common habits or practices widely seen in your customers


This basic research and information about your target audience would in ideal to select the type of social media to get started with.


Target audience = End user + Customers ( Decision makers )
